Our great, great grandmother was a midwife, and both of our grandmothers were nurses caring for women in childbirth. Our mother and aunt currently care for women as nurse practitioners in women’s health. It is not mere coincidence that we have both been drawn to pregnancy, childbirth, human rights, free will, and peaceful birth beginnings. Birth work has been imprinted in our being from the many wise women in our lives who have paved the way before us. ”
